Criminology, Law and Society B.A. Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will demonstrate a working knowledge of the basic structure, organization, history, and processes of the American legal system.
  2. Students will be able to  describe the key causes, costs and consequences of crime. 
  3. Students will be able to describe the differences between sources of legal and societal sources of social controls.  
  4. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the ways in which socioeconomic disparity, race, ethnicity, and gender identification impact social justice. 
  5. Students will be able to evaluate the quality and significance of existing scholarship in criminology, law and society, and synthesize key findings in various source materials in the fields of criminology, law and society.
